REACH Registration
Registration is the process by which chemicals producers provide a technical dossier of data to the European Chemicals Agency in order to continue placing their substances on the European market.
DEHPis data rich and ready for registration.
By December 2008, all DEHP-producing members of the European Council for Plasticisers and Intermediates (ECPI), the industry association representing plasticiser producers in Europe, will submit basic information to the European Chemicals Agency under pre-registration.
By the end of 2010, this will be followed by the submission by DEHP producers of a full dossier of information about the substance. This dossier will include technical details on the identity, production volumes and uses of the substance, guidance about safe use. A Chemical Safety Report will also have to be submitted and will include a hazard assessment.
For the purposes of sharing data and costs related to REACH registration, the European producers are forming a consortium.
